Patea was in a relationship with the 23-year-old Zverev for a year and the couple broke up in August this year. The two of them are not in touch and Patea, a model, said she will not be sharing the child’s custody with Zverev.

“That is out of the question for me,” she said.

Since the resumption of the Tour, after a six-month hiatus due to Covid, the German has enjoyed some highs professionally.

He reached his first Grand Slam final at this year’s US Open, which was conducted on a much smaller scale due to the pandemic and had a depleted field – top men’s players like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka were missing.
