Simona Halep married businessman Toni Iuruc in a civil ceremony in her hometown of Constanta, Romania on Wednesday, Sept. 15.
The couple followed up their nuptials with a celebration with their friends and family.

The 29-year-old confirmed the wedding when she returned to Romania after her strong run to the Round of 16 at the US Open in New York.

“I am emotional,” Halep told reporters when she arrived home.
“These are different emotions than winning a Grand Slam, it’s the personal part, tennis remains tennis. This is an extremely important step, and I’m happy it’s happening.”

On the morning of her wedding, Halep posted this quote of Mark Twain on her social media: ‘Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life.’
Halep had made her relationship with Iuruc last year.

The ceremony was held in the town of Constanta following the marriage signing.
According to Tennis.com, about 300 friends and family members came together to celebrate at the Fratelli Club, owned by Halep’s godfather Dani Caramihai.
